1. Wine. It tastes good now
2. Lone Star Beer. It tastes bad now
3. Being in a political party. I am not now. I tried Dems, then Pacific Green, then Dems again, now “undeclared”. I don’t think the ‘party’ system works at all.
4. Religion. I guess I was catholic by default, but I don’t believe that organized religion adds any value to our world. I stopped pretending, a while back, it was hard actually. I think you can be a good person and you can find comfort and spiritualism in many ways, but churches are a business and not a actual path to happiness or goodness.
5. That I could learn to sing. Turns out I could and I do and I love it.
6. That you have to be a great musician to be in a band. You don’t, you just have to be OK, stay in time and to obviously be having fun.
7. Bourbon would kill me. (Jack Daniels No. 7 in particular). It almost did, so I stopped drinking it for 20 years. Turns out, excess kills you not bourbon specifically.
8. Camping. I used to like all of it. Not sure I do anymore. Might try again someday and see..
9. Punk Rock. Didn’t know I really liked it until this week.
